Heavy Duty Technician Transdev in Leesburg, VA is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles. Key Responsibilities : As a Diesel Mechanic with Transdev, you will help maintain and repair fire trucks, ambulances, and other equipment to ensure vehicle readiness & safety. Other major job duties include: Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections. Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions. Ensure work orders are completed accurately. Assist with mobile emergency services. Qualifications : Valid driver's license required; Willingness to obtain CDL while employed – We train! At least 1 year of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education Possess a mechanic's toolset Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program. Training, testing, and bonuses are provided! Virginia State inspection license is highly preferred EVT Certification is a plus! Subject to DOT drug testing. Physical Requirements: The essential functions of this position require the ability to: Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations. Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
