Salary Range: $26.27 – $50.00 per hour This is a Citywide Exam posting. Your application is to take a citywide exam. Position Overview Under supervision, the Recreation Facility Assistant performs facility monitoring work, light office tasks, customer service duties, set up and take down of tables and chairs, and occasional janitorial tasks. Essential Duties Open, close, set up, monitor, and maintain department facilities; set up and break down equipment for courses. Maintain safe and orderly use of the recreational facility during open hours; identify and report major facility issues immediately. Provide excellent customer service; greet patrons, answer general questions, assist with reservations and program information using the recreation management system. Monitor and maintain recreation equipment and supplies; ensure equipment is used safely and returned in acceptable condition; assist in room set up, break‑down, and clean‑up for courses or programs. Monitor program participants and recreational activities; administer first aid for minor injuries. Outreach and promote interest in recreation activities in the local community. Prepare and submit records and reports related to program and recreational activity participation, facility maintenance, equipment and supplies. Monitor permitted events and ensure terms of facility or field reservations are followed. May include additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or High School Proficiency Examination. 500 hours of recreation or facility monitoring experience. Certification for First Aid within three (3) months of appointment.
