Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit position requiring an AZ or compact RN license and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Details Patient population includes post cath lab, post vascular procedure, and day 2 CABG patients, with general telemetry and titration of Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine (titrate down only) Patients are 15 years and older; no pediatric patients Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 with PCT support of 1 per 16 patients Charge Nurse and Clinical Supervisor available without patient assignments Centralized telemetry monitoring requiring EKG interpretation skills Uses Cerner EMR 12-hour night shifts, 7pm-7am, with every other weekend required Must work 2 of 3 major holidays First to float to similar or lower acuity units 2 days of floor-specific orientation provided No IV team; RT and Pharmacy available 24/7 Hospitalist rounds during the day and is on call at night Requirements Active AZ or Compact RN license required BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 full years of RN experience required Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (maximum 2 attempts) Must pass a Pass/Fail sterile technique exam on day 1 of orientation, with emphasis on sterile field for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes Must be able to interpret EKGs Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Copy of driver's license required for consideration Additional Information Provide direct patient care to cardiac telemetry patients including post-procedural monitoring and medication titration Navy scrub color required Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration Failure of second attempt on dysrhythmia or sterile technique testing results in ineligibility for 6 months with this health system Candidates who were directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by this health system within the past year are not eligible; PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
