Event Coordinator

Soni is seeking a highly organized, self-motivated Event Coordinator to support our client. This hands-on role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and removal of large timing systems and branded event displays at professional sporting events.

This position requires extensive travel (up to 120 days annually) and the ability to work independently while also collaborating with event staff, vendors, and internal teams. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, enjoys working outdoors, and thrives in a fast-paced event environment.

Key Responsibilities

Event Operations

• Install, test, maintain, and dismantle large timing equipment at assigned sporting events.
  
  
• Install event signage and branded display materials as needed.
  
  
• Perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs to mechanical and electrical equipment during live events.
  
  
• Coordinate with event personnel to ensure successful event setup and execution.
  
  
• Communicate with vendors and event staff before and after each event.

Equipment & Warehouse Operations

• Coordinate shipping and receiving of timing equipment and event materials.
  
  
• Prepare shipping documentation and event paperwork.
  
  
• Maintain warehouse organization, including equipment, spare parts, and signage inventory.
  
  
• Clean, inspect, and test timing equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  
  
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on timing equipment.
  
  
• Assist with installation of new equipment and refurbishment of existing units.
  
  
• Complete post-event reports and documentation.

Qualifications

Required

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  
  
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in event installation, electrical work, equipment installation, or a related technical field.
  
  
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
  
  
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
  
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
  
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  
  
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree.
  
  
• Electronics certification or related technical training.
  
  
• Knowledge of OSHA safety practices.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent physical activity, including:

• Standing and walking for extended periods
  
  
• Working outdoors in various weather conditions
  
  
• Lifting, carrying, and moving equipment weighing up to 150 pounds (with appropriate assistance when required)
  
  
• Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and use of hand and power tools
  
  
• Operating electrical testing equipment
  
  
• Working in environments with varying noise levels, including large sporting venues

Compensation: $42 to $46 an hour
Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
