Overview


This role is responsible for ensuring the daily and monthly operational accounting for Patelco's business activities are accurate and complete in accordance with Patelco's policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, a history of in-proof general ledger reconciliations and experiencing applying a continuous improvement mindset.


Responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly general ledger entries, reconciliations, and schedules for Patelco's business products and operations.
• Prepare various reconciliations and ensure appropriate support is in place for general ledger balances.
• Responsible for managing accounting functions related to property, plant, and equipment; credit card postings; daily cash balancing; wire transactions; monthly vendor accruals; prepaid expenses; and cash disbursement activities.
• Identify and take the initiative to resolve any out of balances so that credit union losses can be minimized
• Support the branches and other department inquiries related to check, ACH, and transactions originating in Patelco's branches.
• Provide back-up support for the accounts payable and other cash disbursement functions.
• Update financial information in systems or spreadsheets to ensure all information is accurate and available when needed.
• Responsible for month-end close journal entries and preparing supporting documentation
• Identify and help resolve general ledger balance variances
• Document and maintain up to date processes and procedures
• Assist manager with documenting accounting memos and flow charts
• Assist in implementing accounting entries for new initiatives and transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 5+ years' hands-on accounting experience with solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Financial institution or payments experience preferred
• Prior experience with accounting ERP system (ie Fiserv) and reconciliation tool (ie Blackline) preferred
• Flexible with working extra hours as needed
• Located at Dublin HQ

Target Base Pay

$36.49 - $42.94
