As a Certified Surgical Technician, you will join a collaborative perioperative team dedicated to precision, teamwork, and patient-focused care, all aimed at achieving outstanding surgical results. In the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), your contributions will be vital in preparing the operating room, assisting surgeons and perioperative nurses during procedures, and ensuring that every patient receives safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. • Prepare operating rooms by ensuring that surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are organized and ready for scheduled procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment within the operating room.
• Work alongside the perioperative registered nurse to provide tailored, age-appropriate care for patients throughout their surgical journey.
• Uphold a sterile field and follow infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and organizational policies to ensure safe surgical outcomes.
• Anticipate the surgeon’s needs for instruments and equipment during procedures, adapting swiftly to changes in surgical conditions.
• Assist the surgical team during both routine and complex procedures by managing instruments, supplies, and equipment with precision.
• Monitor the surgical environment to ensure patients' physiological responses remain stable throughout the perioperative experience.
• Support a safe operating room by adhering to established risk reduction practices, including fire prevention and safety protocols related to laser and electrosurgical equipment.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, registered nurses, and other perioperative team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Ensure accurate preparation, organization, and turnover of surgical equipment to facilitate efficient workflow between procedures.
• Engage in departmental education, orientation, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives that promote ongoing clinical excellence.

To be eligible for this Surgical Technician position, you should be dedicated to supporting safe, high-quality surgical care through technical expertise and teamwork.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of a Surgical Technician program and certification (CST credential through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or another recognized credentialing body).
• A minimum of 2 years of surgical technician experience in an operating room setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Availability to work a schedule of 36 hours per week, specifically during the day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and fulfill on-call requirements as needed.
