Store Manager

The Store Manager leads all aspects of store operations while developing a high-performing leadership team dedicated to serving outdoor enthusiasts. This role drives store performance through leadership, operational execution, strategic planning, and talent development while ensuring exceptional customer experiences and achievement of financial objectives. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development – Adventures Are Better Together Model the Way by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and adherence to company standards. Inspire a Shared Vision by aligning Assistant Store Managers, Team Leads, and Outfitters around store goals and exceptional service. Enable Others to Act by developing leaders through coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback. Encourage the Heart by recognizing strong performance and building a culture of engagement and teamwork. Recruit, hire, and develop leadership teams and Outfitters while holding leaders accountable for results. Sales & Customer Experience – Outfitters Serving Outdoor Enthusiasts Champion a customer-first culture focused on knowledgeable and passionate service. Ensure the store consistently delivers exceptional service and outdoor expertise. Support in-store events and community engagement that connect customers with outdoor activities. Operational Execution – Hitting the Mark Lead daily store operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company standards. Ensure merchandising, inventory accuracy, and store presentation support a strong customer experience. Provide hands-on leadership by supporting operational execution across all areas of the store. Financial Performance – Hitting the Mark Analyze sales, inventory, and labor metrics to improve store profitability and performance. Align merchandising with local outdoor trends and customer demand. Partner with merchandising teams to ensure relevant product assortments. Outfitter Relations – Adventures Are Better Together Address Outfitter concerns and performance issues while maintaining a respectful workplace. Promote open communication, trust, and accountability across the leadership team. Lead with transparency, honesty, and integrity in all store operations including outfitter relations. Partner with Human Resources on hiring, development, and performance management. Compliance & Accountability – Trust Is Our North Star Ensure compliance with company policies and all federal, state, and local regulations, including ATF requirements. Maintain Responsible Person status as required by federal firearms licensing regulations and ensure all responsibilities associated with that designation are upheld. FFL License Requirements | FFL Qualifications | FFL Guard Must be legally eligible to possess, handle, and sell firearms as required by law and company policy. Maintain accurate operational records, including firearms logs and cycle counts. Maintain professional relationships with vendors and regulatory agencies and serve as the primary contact for inspections and compliance reviews. Challenge the Process by identifying opportunities to improve operations, customer experience, and store performance. Support implementation of new initiatives, merchandising strategies, and operational improvements. Plan and execute seasonal promotions, product launches, and store events. Community Engagement – Adventures are Better Together Support local outreach efforts and store events that strengthen relationships with the outdoor community, federal and state agencies, and other partners in the industry. Inspire a Shared Vision by reinforcing the importance of serving outdoor enthusiasts with passion and expertise. Encourage Outfitters to stay informed about local outdoor activities and seasonal opportunities. Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills. Ability to motivate teams and hold leaders accountable for results. Strong operational, merchandising, and business management skills. Ability to analyze financial reports and operational performance metrics. Knowledge of local outdoor activities, trends, and seasonal opportunities. Maintain Responsible Person status as required by federal firearms licensing regulations and ensure all responsibilities associated with that designation are upheld. FFL License Requirements | FFL Qualifications | FFL Guard Must be legally eligible to possess, handle, and sell firearms as required by law and company policy. Education & Experience 5+ years of retail leadership experience, including at least two years as a Store Manager or equivalent leadership role. Big box retail experience preferred.
