Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
Must-Have: Fluoroscopy experience, portable x-ray experience


Description:
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of all aspects of General Diagnostic Radiology.
Is familiar with and adheres to departmental protocols and policies.
Obtains RT(R) credentials and maintains Active Status.
Uses technical knowledge and ability to assist in troubleshooting work unit problems with respect to equipment and protocols.
Enthusiastically shares knowledge with employees and students in the work unit.
Ensures that patient demographic information, emulsion markers, and examination requests are correct.
Critiques, orients, and saves all pertinent images.
Transmits QA-ed images to PACS and ensures that all images reach PACS.
Documents completion and/or cancellation of all procedures in the imaging system.
Maintains image management equipment and reports any equipment problems to appropriate resources.
Utilizes the system for obtaining additional study data.
Performs work in a timely manner.
Performs quality radiographic images consistently.
Analyzes requests and draws appropriate conclusions for examinations and action plans.
Reviews radiographic orders and images and correlates patient demographic information to ensure accuracy.
Reviews daily schedules and/or the status of patients waiting for examinations.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Documents incidents and advises area supervisor of improvement opportunities for the work unit.
Uses relevant systems effectively to access information and document the status of procedures.
Modifies all necessary orders for appropriateness.
Completes exams in the system and transmits information to PACS.
Verifies that all information has arrived properly into the system.
Verifies patient identity and obtains relevant patient history.
Confirms pregnancy status before administering ionizing radiation.
Assesses patients' physical conditions and develops action plans for performing examinations.
Determines if additional medical personnel or equipment is needed and takes appropriate action.
Assists patients requiring extra attention and reacts to emergency situations.
Ensures patient safety.
