Definition: To operate construction and maintenance equipment in support of a variety of activities including mowing, excavating, grading, loading and related operations; and to perform other parks, horticulture, or street maintenance related duties as assigned.

Supervision Received and Exercised: Receives general supervision from higher level staff. Exercises no supervision.

Examples of Important Responsibilities and Duties: Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Operate construction and maintenance equipment such as tractors, trucks, riding mowers, push-mowers, backhoes, dump trucks, front-end loaders, table saws, sewer machines, spray paint machines, and various other equipment in support of a variety of maintenance and construction operations.
• Participate in the repair and maintenance of parks, publicly owned properties, city streets, roads, and rights-of-way.
• Excavate drainage ditches and backfill jobs upon completion.
• Perform additional grounds maintenance, construction and maintenance tasks such as park and roadway mowing, seeding, concrete work, truck driving, concrete spreading, jackhammering, and a variety of minor repair activities.
• Operate a power mower to cut grass along roadways and in park areas; spray herbicide and insecticide
