Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience

• Valid North Carolina Special Education License is required
• Appropriate credentials/certifications in Special Education
• Prior experience working with high school students
• Background in managing behavioral challenges is highly valued
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Passion for individualized instruction and student advocacy

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students on your caseload
• Deliver instruction tailored to a variety of learning styles and abilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists to support inclusion and student progress
• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet students’ unique needs
• Foster a positive, respectful, and safe classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student objectives, progress, and challenges
• Employ evidence-based behavioral support strategies when needed
