The Wheelchair Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing the efficient deployment of wheelchair services throughout the airport. This role involves scheduling and dispatching wheelchair attendants to assist passengers with mobility challenges, ensuring timely and effective service. You will monitor flight schedules, passenger needs, and attendant availability to optimize resource distribution and response times. Additionally, the position requires maintaining clear communication with airport staff, attendants, and passengers to facilitate a smooth and supportive experience for those requiring assistance.

Responsibilities include coordinating the dispatch of wheelchair services throughout the airport terminals, responding promptly to requests for wheelchair assistance from airline personnel and passengers, managing the scheduling and routing of wheelchair attendants to maximize efficiency, tracking the availability and location of wheelchairs and mobility equipment, maintaining clear communication with airport staff, ensuring compliance with ADA guidelines and airport regulations, providing training and guidance to wheelchair attendants on proper handling and safety protocols, monitoring service quality and passenger satisfaction regarding wheelchair assistance, handling passenger inquiries and concerns related to wheelchair services, maintaining records and logs of wheelchair dispatches and assistance provided, collaborating with airport security and medical teams in case of emergencies, overseeing the maintenance and readiness of wheelchair equipment, developing and implementing procedures to improve service delivery and response times, liaising with airline and airport personnel to streamline wheelchair service operations, preparing reports on service metrics, challenges, and improvements for management review, exemplifying PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards, and performing any additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications include being 18 years of age or older, eligible to work in the United States, communicating effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking), having 1 year of wheelchair experience, being able to access and interpret information in print and electronically, effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means, eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances, and being flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical activity/working conditions may include ability to lift up to 70 pounds, prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable, may need to reach with arms and grasp with hands, may need to push, pull, may need to bend, stretch, squat, kneel, exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels, be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms, tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers, specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
