Cloud Platform Engineer

Salary: $104,000 - 124,800 per year Requirements:

• Advanced, hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms
• Strong background writing, testing, and maintaining Terraform modules and automation pipelines
• Proven capability designing, building, and supporting Amazon EKS clusters and containerized applications
• Demonstrated success migrating VMware-based environments to Amazon EC2 and adapting applications for AWS
• Practical experience with AWS storage services such as EBS, EFS, and S3, plus analytics/data warehousing platforms like Amazon Redshift
• Familiarity with AWS AI services, including Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker
• Experience integrating infrastructure-as-code workflows with ServiceNow for automated provisioning and change control
• Ability to produce architectural artifacts, sequence diagrams, and target-state designs for formal Technical Architecture reviews
• Knowledge of vulnerability analysis, patch management, and securing infrastructure-as-code and containerized environments
• Strong technical writing skills for runbooks, cutover plans, and knowledge-transfer materials
• Comfortable working in an agile, Product Owner-led delivery model with sprints, backlog prioritization, and ticketing
• Ability to collaborate effectively with architecture, security, and operations teams to support production readiness

• Deliver platform engineering, automation, cloud migration, and operational enablement across AWS and hybrid environments
• Develop, enhance, test, and document Terraform modules, pipelines, governance controls, and automation routines
• Enable self-service AWS infrastructure provisioning through Terraform integrated with ServiceNow
• Design, build, configure, and support Amazon EKS clusters and migrate containerized applications to EKS
• Assess, plan, execute, validate, and document migrations of virtual machines and workloads from VMware to Amazon EC2
• Support cloud buildouts, platform integrations, application dependency mapping, and data center exit initiatives
• Support AWS AI platforms such as Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker
• Manage and integrate AWS storage and data platforms including EBS, EFS, S3, and Amazon Redshift
• Support architecture discovery, solution design, and Technical Architecture review activities
• Prepare and maintain current-state and target-state diagrams, design decisions, dependency views, and security, resiliency, and capacity considerations
• Produce architecture review artifacts, respond to feedback, and obtain approvals before implementation
• Assess, prioritize, remediate, test, and document security vulnerabilities across platform, infrastructure-as-code, container, OS, middleware, and migration components
• Triage and resolve defects, risks, and technical blockers tied to authorized platform engineering and migration work
• Plan and support migration execution, including readiness assessments, change records, cutover and rollback planning, command-center support, hypercare, post-migration validation, and stabilization
• Prepare operational handoffs by establishing monitoring, alerting, and logging; validating backup and recovery; updating CMDB and service asset inventories; completing runbooks; and training support teams

We are seeking an experienced Platform & Cloud Migration Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, we support platform engineering, automation, cloud migration, and operational enablement across AWS and hybrid environments. Work is managed through a Product Owner-prioritized backlog and authorized via work packages, sprint plans, tickets, and written task assignments. This is a remote position with a contract, full-time arrangement.
