Staff Accountant

Job Description:

Berkot’s Super Foods, a family-owned and rapidly growing grocery chain in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team based in Joliet, Illinois. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records in line with our commitment to efficiency and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare general ledger/journal entries, own weekly financials and be primary point of contact for the

Accounting team.

· Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable/Collections staff

· Prepare supporting schedules as needed.

· Perform monthly account reconciliations and research variances.

· Assist with quarterly/year end closes and preparation of financial statements.

· Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual budgets.

· Prepare inventory accounting, reconciliation, and adjustments.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· 2+ years of general accounting experience.

· General business knowledge-concepts, practices, procedures.

· Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

· Excellent communication, organization, diligence, and time-management skills.

Hours: In-Person, 45 hours a week, Monday - Friday

Pay Rate: $65k - $80k per year (based on experience)
