We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join our team in Okaloosa County Public Schools. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on students' communication and language development within the school setting.

Job Description:

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is partnering with Okaloosa County Public Schools to find a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join their team.

As a school- based Speech Language Pathology Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Under the guidance and supervision of licensed Speech Language Pathologists, your work will directly contribute to the success and well being of students.

Additional Details:

Expected Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Workplace Setting: In-person school
Number of Hires: 1-2

• There are multiple opportunities across grade levels to work in this supportive and well-organized district. Current SLPA openings:
• Davidson Middle School - Crestview - 5 days a week
• Silver Sands School (K-22) - Ft Walton Beach - 3 days a week
• Richbourg School (K-22) - Crestview - 2 days a week
• Edwins Elementary (K-5) - Ft Walton Beach - 5 days a week

Responsibilities:

• Provide speech and language therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Implement treatment plans and therapy activities aligned with students' IEP goals.
• Collect data and document student progress and session notes.
• Collaborate with teachers, the supervising SLP, and families to support carryover of skills.
• Prepare therapy materials and maintain an organized, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) program or related field.
• SLPA FL State licensure or willing to obtain
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, educators, and support staff.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to assist in managing caseload and documentation.
• Dedication to providing culturally competent and student-centered care.
