Position Summary

The Facilities Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment for guests and employees throughout the casino property. This includes cleaning and maintaining casino areas, dining facilities, offices, restrooms, entrances, and grounds while following Facilities Department SOPs, Company Values, and the Mission Statement.

The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, respond promptly to facility needs, and help ensure the property remains clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Depending on experience, the duties, responsibilities, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) listed below may be taught and demonstrated during the Facilities Porter training process.

• Reports directly to the Facilities Supervisor.
• Cleans and maintains the Casino, Dining Halls, Employee Dining Hall, Administrative Offices, Banquet Rooms, and all public and employee restrooms.
• Vacuums and mops floors safely while utilizing caution signs.
• Empties and cleans ashtrays and removes empty drink glasses.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, glass surfaces, and walls as needed.
• Collects and disposes of trash and wipes down trash containers when necessary.
• Maintains clean and fully stocked public and employee restrooms.
• Cleans, organizes, and stocks supply closets.
• Responds promptly to radio calls and cleaning emergencies.
• Removes boxes, trash, or other obstructions from walking areas in a timely manner.
• Cleans gaming machines around guests in an unobtrusive and courteous manner.
• Removes debris from guest and employee entrances, sidewalks, and parking lots as needed.
• Ensures emergency exits remain clear of debris and obstructions, both inside and outside the facility.
• Inspects entrances, exits, sidewalks, loading docks, ramps, and stairways for snow and ice accumulation. Removes snow and applies ice melt as needed.
• Identifies and promptly addresses spills, debris, full trash containers, dirty ashtrays, drink glasses, and unclean mirrors, windows, and glass surfaces.
• Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves and masks, when handling chemicals.
• Maintains tools and equipment and reports repair or replacement needs.
• May assist with receiving, unloading, and storing deliveries.
• Reports safety hazards and assists in ensuring timely resolution.
• Reports suspicious activity to Security and the Facilities Supervisor.
• Assists all departments in maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with guests, coworkers, and vendors.
• Provides courteous assistance to guests, including directions and general inquiries.
• Follows all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Works varying schedules and attends mandatory meetings.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of six (6) months of experience as a casino porter or in a similar role preferred.

Age and Gaming Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• This is a non-gaming position.

Language Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and understand English and/or Spanish.
• Ability to respond appropriately to inquiries, complaints, and emergency situations.
• Fluency in English required.
• Spanish language skills preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to:

• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, climb, and balance.
• Use hands to handle tools and equipment; push, pull, inspect, and lift materials.
• Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Reach with hands and arms, kneel, and sit as necessary.
• Maintain hand-eye coordination.
• Utilize close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in varying levels of crowds, noise, and smoke depending on location and guest volume.
• Primarily an indoor, climate-controlled environment with occasional outdoor duties.
• Noise levels may range from loud to excessive.
• Must be available to work overnight shifts and varying schedules based on operational needs.
