Assistant Varsity Field Hockey Coach – Cranbrook Upper School Cranbrook Schools is seeking a passionate, committed, and growth‑minded Assistant Varsity Field Hockey Coach to support and help build a competitive and values‑driven program within a premier independent school setting. The position is well‑suited for former field hockey players who are ready to take the next step into coaching and contribute to a program with high expectations, strong support, and significant potential for growth. Ideal Candidate Bring coaching experience in field hockey or demonstrate the ability to translate playing experience into effective teaching. Former field hockey playing experience (high school, club, or collegiate) strongly preferred. Demonstrate the ability to teach fundamentals, build relationships, and create a positive, accountable team culture. Be eager to learn, grow, and contribute within a collaborative coaching staff. Be committed to developing student‑athletes of character, emphasizing effort, discipline, and a team‑first mentality. Responsibilities Assist in planning and leading practices focused on skill development and team concepts. Support game preparation, scouting, and in‑game coaching. Help foster a competitive and inclusive team culture aligned with school values. Communicate effectively with players, families, and the coaching staff. Contribute to the long‑term growth and sustainability of the program. Requirements Demonstrated ability to develop players and contribute to building competitive, high‑character teams.
