Goods Receiving Clerk (GR Clerk)

The Goods Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, verifying, and processing incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness of deliveries, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Duties And Responsibilities

Receiving and Verifying Shipments:

  • Unload and inspect incoming shipments, checking for damage or discrepancies.
  • Compare packing lists and purchase orders to ensure accuracy of deliveries.
  • Verify quantities and item descriptions against shipping documents.
  • Sign for deliveries and document any issues or damages.

Inventory Management:

  • Update inventory records with received items, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Organize and store received goods in designated areas within the warehouse.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate stock levels and identifying potential shortages.

Communication and Record Keeping:

  • Communicate with vendors regarding shipment status, delays, or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming shipments, including dates, quantities, and any issues encountered.
  • Assist with processing returns or adjustments for incorrect or damaged items.

Other Duties:

  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or hand trucks, as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to lift and move boxes and materials.

Experience operating warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) is a plus.

Education And/Or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) at least 2 yrs. or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

Possess or have ability to become forklift certified

Driver's License or equivalent

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents, including protocols, standard operating procedures, customer orders, and pick tickets.

Reasoning Ability

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Pay Rate: $22-24.50/hr depending on shift
