Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Pediatric Ambulatory Care position requiring pediatric GI nursing experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• Pediatric Ambulatory Care unit within a children's hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• 16-week assignment length
• Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (OR license required to submit)
• Current BLS certification (AHA Traditional required, RQI not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric GI or GI nursing experience required
• Prior ambulatory nursing experience required
• Peds and triage experience required, pediatric GI clinic experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required for consideration
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Strong analytic, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Intermediate computer skills including EHR navigation and email use
• Skilled in patient triage, assessment, vital signs, medication administration, and specimen collection
• Experience with venipuncture, phlebotomy, and aseptic procedure setup

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient triage, assessment, medication reconciliation, patient teaching, and assisting with procedures
• Duties also include chart preparation, referrals, authorization forms, and telephone triage
• Perform specimen collection including venipuncture and capillary draws with proper labeling
• Work within a family care, internal medicine, and pediatrics clinic setting
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
• First-time travelers will be considered if otherwise qualified
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no mile radius requirement
• Floating to affiliate hospitals nearby may be required; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• RTO must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed two weeks
• Returning staff must have been away for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
