\nThe Clinical Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support within an outpatient practice. This position works closely with providers, patients, and care teams to deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining efficient office operations. Responsibilities include obtaining patient information, assisting with examinations, coordinating care, scheduling appointments, and supporting day-to-day clinical activities\n
\nYour Workday: Full Time - Day/ Evening and weekends. 2 12 hour shift and 2 8 hour shift every other week.\n

\nThe Chenango Bridge Walk-In Care location includes numerous providers and clinicians caring for patients of all ages. Working alongside experienced healthcare professionals allows Clinical Assistants to learn, grow, and contribute to a team-focused environment.\n
\n
\nChenango Bridge Walk-In Care is designed to treat patients with acute care needs when they cannot get to their physician's office during regular business hours. As a Clinical Assistant, you help patients receive timely care when they need it most.\n
\n
\nPosition Summary:\n
\nPerforms duties of a clinical and clerical nature. Maintains records and applies knowledge and skills to run a full functioning office for one or more Providers in Clinic. Assists professional staff by performing routine duties in caring for patients.\n
\nEducation, License, Certification:\n
\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\n
\nExperience:\n
\nKnowledge of medical terminology, ability to communicate and excellent customer service skills a must. Must be dependable, professional, flexible and able to multi‐task.\n
\nEssential Functions:\n
\n- Interviews patient to obtain medical history.\n
\n- Determines vital signs, (weight, temperature, blood pressure, etc) and documents in the patient’s medical record.\n
\n- Assists provider during exam and treatment.\n
\n- Directs patient to examination room and prepares patient for examination and treatment.\n
\n- Performs liaison duties between patients, Providers, hospital staff, etc.\n
\n- Process ancillary reports and all other patient results to the provider for review and assists with patient communication.\n
\n- Responsible for greeting patients and updating various pertinent information into the patient’s medical record.\n
\n- Routes patient after exam to proper area for visit completion.\n
\n- May be required to do phlebotomy.\n
\n- May perform high level disinfection, based on departmental equipment\n
\nOther Duties:\n
\n- Answers telephones and schedules patient appointments.\n
\n- Takes messages of a medical nature (requests for prescription refills, test results, etc).\n
\n- Performs other clerical functions as necessary.\n
\n- Exhibits good telephone etiquette.\n
\n- Quotes patient self‐pay balances at time of scheduling.\n
\n- Informs patients of their financial obligations.\n
\n- Directs patients to the patient representative for assistance with their account.\n
\n- Applies principles of disinfection/sterilization/disease transmission/universal precautions as per clinic and manufacturer guidelines.\n
\n- Assists in maintaining appropriate level of supplies.\n
\n- Attends and participates in Department meetings, along with contributing to department/office goals.\n
\n- Become familiar with ICD‐9 and CPT coding.\n
\n- Cleans, stocks, and prepares exam rooms.\n
\n- Coordinate patient appointments for X‐ray, CT scans, Physical Therapy, etc. as ordered by the providers.\n
\n- Assists with obtaining and processing referral and pre‐certification requirements.\n
\n- Maintains confidentiality, respect and consideration of patients and others.\n
\n- Applies Guthrie values (patient centeredness, teamwork, excellence) when performing daily tasks.\n
\n- Maintains equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and clinic policies and procedures.\n
\n- Performs and documents quality control on equipment as required.\n

\nPay ranges from $17.40-$25.66 based on experience\n
