Maintenance Worker

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the physical plant and grounds of Cunningham Childrens Home. This role includes general maintenance, equipment upkeep, and vehicle care. You will also assist with setting up for special functions and maintaining the swimming pool.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7 am-4 pm, on-call 1 day/week and 1 weekend/month

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance tasks in all Cunningham-operated buildings, on and off-campus.
• Maintain non-IT equipment, vehicles, and grounds, including the swimming pool.
• Assist with painting, moving furniture, and event setup.

• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain confidentiality and model professionalism.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Illinois drivers license.
• 5 years of experience in general maintenance and repair.
• Strong skills in mechanics, carpentry, painting, gardening, etc.
• Ability to work independently and identify maintenance needs.

Working Conditions:

• Indoor work: 60%
• Outdoor work: 40%
• Noise levels vary from low to loud
• Lifting up to 60 lbs and carrying up to 100 yards required
• Frequent walking, bending, and stair climbing across the main campus
