This full-time, temporary assignment is perfect for an enthusiastic Special Education professional who excels in self-contained settings, particularly with students on the autism spectrum. You’ll have the chance to make a significant impact by providing tailored instruction to a caseload of 8 to 15 students, utilizing best practices for individualized learning.

This position begins as soon as possible and runs for 12 weeks. Your workday will be from 8:20 AM to 3:10 PM, totaling 35 hours per week. You’ll collaborate with dedicated school staff and families to foster growth and success for your students.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Illinois teaching certification in Special Education
• Previous experience in a school environment preferred
• Expertise or experience working with self-contained classrooms and students on the autism spectrum
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices for supporting diverse learners
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Commitment to working onsite

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering individualized and small-group instruction to meet each student’s unique needs
• Developing and implementing IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports
• Communicating effectively with parents, caregivers, and fellow educators
• Creating a structured, positive, and supportive learning environment
• Supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic development
