Plant Engineering Director, Meat ProcessingA food manufacturing facility specializing in pork products is hiring a Plant Engineering Director to lead maintenance and engineering operations at its Sioux Falls plant. This role owns equipment reliability, capital project execution, and maintenance strategy for a large-scale production environment, with direct oversight of the maintenance and engineering team.Full-time. Additional hours and occasional weekend work may be required based on operational needs.$160,000 to $210,000 base salary, plus annual bonus, commensurate with experience.This role leads capital projects from concept through completion, managing scope, budget, and timeline while maintaining safety, food safety, and environmental compliance throughout. The Plant Engineering Director develops and executes maintenance strategy, including preventive and predictive maintenance and TPM programs, to maximize equipment uptime and reliability. This includes leading the maintenance team through task delegation, policy enforcement, and safety-focused planning, as well as troubleshooting daily operational issues and building longer-term fixes to reduce recurring downtime.The role also owns maintenance KPIs, tracking metrics such as equipment reliability, supplier performance, and overall equipment effectiveness to guide continuous improvement across the plant. This position leads and develops the engineering team through coaching and performance management, working closely with HR to build a safety-focused, collaborative team culture.Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, Business, or a related field, and 10+ years of experience in engineering management, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMaster's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience also qualifies5+ years of experience in a leadership role, including team development and managementAdvanced technical skills in mechanical and electrical fields (PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering)Experience leading resource planning in a large manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive and predictive maintenance, and TPMProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SAPStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiencesExperience with pork products or within the meat processing industryStrong organizational planning, analytical reasoning, and cross-functional teamwork skills$160,000 to $210,000 base salary plus annual bonusMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement planPaid time offTo apply, submit your resume for consideration.
