Engineering Test Technician

Daikin Applied is seeking an Engineering Technician I - IV to support its planned laboratory expansion throughout 2026. Location Plymouth, MN Shift Hours 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM, Monday – Thursday (10% shift differential) Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard. Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance. Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments. Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions. Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times. Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner. Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams. Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications. Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements. Create records of testing activities and document them according to laboratory procedures. Improve laboratory activities on a continuous basis. Implement corrective and preventative actions. Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities. Provide direction, assistance and training to other technicians (senior roles only). Qualifications Associate’s degree in HVAC&R or related experience. Experience related to mechanical test lab or field service (preferred). Fork truck training/license, man lift training/license, universal card, or R410a card (preferred). Mentorship experience (preferred). Compensation The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.65 to $50.77 in Minnesota. The displayed range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade for which this position falls.
