Department 11917 Navicent Health Medical Center - Facilities Status Full time Benefits Eligible Yes Hours Per Week 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information First Shift Pay Range $33.05 - $49.60 Major Responsibilities Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures. Operates all campus HVAC equipment with minimal guidance and optimizes efficiency, safety, and occupant comfort. Maintains accurate records of equipment startup, failures, and work progress via logbooks and CMMS. Uses BAS to monitor and control HVAC equipment, responds to alarms, and optimizes operations using trending reports. Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC and related equipment: inspection, cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, testing, flushing, minor repairs, rebuilding, and part replacements. Troubleshoots complex HVAC issues, determines root cause timely, executes repairs or installations minimizing impact on hospital services, and requests assistance when needed. Has intermediate knowledge of medical gas systems. Responds to building occupant complaints in a timely professional manner and communicates status of corrective action. Maintains current daily logs, preventive maintenance records, and equipment repair files to comply with local, state and federal regulations. Performs routine general maintenance: painting, plumbing, carpentry, equipment testing and repair, ventilation, lighting, electrical, groundskeeping, and snow removal; handles mechanical, electrical, and other critical systems, documents tasks in CMMS. Reads blueprints and maintenance manuals to gain needed knowledge. Supports small facility projects. Acts as informal resource for less experienced peers. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required Stationary Engineer license from the municipality of work location or Power Engineer certification (1st‑5th Class) from NIULPE or ASOPE; equivalent certifications from federal organizations such as the U.S. Navy considered. Valid driver’s license. Education Required Advanced training beyond high school including completion of technical training. Experience Required Four or more years of Stationary Engineering experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and regulations for assigned equipment and operations. Advanced computer skills (CMMS, building automation, Microsoft Office). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Physical Requirements And Working Conditions Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently. Must lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead; up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest; lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height over reasonable distance. Must push/pull with 50 lbs. of force. Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards requires safety precaution knowledge. Position requires travel and potential exposure to road/weather hazards.
