Facility Security Specialist

divh2Facility Security Specialist/h2pSupport staff within the Homeland Security Division of the Marion County Sheriffs Office that will assist Deputies and members of the public with screening procedures and monitoring the facilities secured by the Marion County Sheriffs Office./ppAssist with screening of members of the public and employees when entering facility/ppUtilize metal detector and/or hand wand/ppRetain knowledge of items not permitted within facility and confiscate items when located/ppMonitor all activity in the facility entryways and hallways/ppVerify identity of personnel entering facility with identification cards/ppIdentify employee parking passes/ppAssist with traffic control procedures within facility garage and/or parking areas/ppCommunicate with deputies, co-workers, and supervising staff via radio communication/ppAssist with evacuation of facilities during emergency/ppAssist with various additional tasks as directed by the Sheriff/ppMust be 18 years of age/ppMust have High School Diploma or GED/ppMust successfully pass a complete background check, including but not limited to criminal history check/ppMust successfully complete required training/ppMust be able to retain knowledge of policy and procedures/ppMust possess strong verbal communication skills/ppFacility Security Specialist will be monitored closely by supervisory staff/p/div
