Surgical Tech First Assist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 8-hour days with mandatory call coverage every 6th day from 7:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Every 6th Saturday work shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, followed by call coverage from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM on Sundays.

Job Description

The Surgical Tech First Assist will play a crucial role in assisting surgical teams during procedures. This position requires proactive participation in surgical settings and adherence to strict protocols for patient safety and care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team during operations as the first assist.
• Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
• Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
• Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to provide quality care.
• Adhere to safety and health regulations during all surgical procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification (AHA)
• Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) via NBSTSA
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA
