About the Role:
Woodstock Cafe in Woodstock, VA is looking for a talented and passionate Line Cook/Pasta Maker to join our kitchen team! If you love crafting fresh, handmade pasta and thrive in a fast-paced culinary environment, this is the perfect opportunity to bring your skills to a welcoming local cafe.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute fresh, handmade pasta dishes from scratch daily
- Maintain line cook stations and ensure smooth, efficient service during peak hours
- Follow recipes and plating standards to ensure consistent food quality
- Monitor food prep, portioning, and storage to meet health and safety standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and execution of orders
- Assist with mise en place, prep work, and kitchen organization before each shift
- Keep workstations clean, sanitized, and stocked throughout service
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a line cook in a restaurant or cafe setting
- Hands-on experience making fresh pasta from scratch is strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency
- Reliable, punctual, and a team-oriented attitude
- Food handler certification or willingness to obtain one
