Field Buyer

Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Field Buyer on behalf of our client, a global engineering, construction, and project management company. The Field Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement process for assigned materials and equipment, ensuring timely, cost-effective purchasing while supporting project schedules and business objectives. This role partners closely with engineering, suppliers, and internal procurement teams to source qualified vendors, manage purchase orders, negotiate commercial terms, and monitor supplier performance throughout the procurement lifecycle. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare bidder lists and prequalify vendors based on project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to review and process material requisitions.
• Develop bid packages, issue requests for quotations, and coordinate supplier communications.
• Manage bidder inquiries and ensure timely receipt of competitive bids.
• Prepare commercial bid summaries and recommend supplier selections.
• Issue purchase orders and maintain procurement documentation and tracking records.
• Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure purchase order compliance.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure delivery, quality, and contractual obligations are met.
• Process purchase order revisions and manage changes affecting project cost or schedule.
• Maintain procurement files, correspondence, and status reports for assigned orders.
• Coordinate with project procurement personnel and internal departments throughout the purchasing process.
• Review supplier reports and ensure compliance with contract terms and project requirements.

Requirements Include: Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent international degree or relevant professional experience will be considered.

Experience:

• 2-5 years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or sourcing experience with a bachelor's degree, or 6-9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience supporting engineering, construction, EPC, or industrial projects is preferred.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and purchase orders in a project-driven environment.

• Procurement and sourcing expertise.

Certifications:

• Professional procurement certifications (such as CPSM, CPPB, or CPM) are a plus but not required.

Knowledge:

• Understanding of procurement principles, purchasing processes, and supplier management.
• Knowledge of commercial contracting and purchase order administration.
• Familiarity with engineering and construction procurement processes.
• Experience with procurement systems or ERP software is preferred.
• Understanding of project schedules, cost controls, and supply chain coordination.
