About The Company We're a full-service fire protection contractor specializing in the design, installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection and sprinkler systems. About The Role We are looking for a Designer to join our Designer Development Program. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in CAD, drafting, mechanical/MEP design, construction, or a related technical field who wants to develop a long-term career in fire protection design. The program provides hands‑on training, mentoring, professional development, and a structured career path. Key Responsibilities Assist with the design of wet and dry fire sprinkler systems Create and modify 2D and 3D drawings using CAD/design software Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and conceptual layouts Assist with field surveys, material takeoffs, system calculations, and equipment selection Review plans, specifications, and construction drawings Assist with estimates, project planning, and design changes Coordinate with project managers, lead designers, field personnel, and customers Prepare specifications, O&M documentation, and organized project files Learn and apply applicable fire protection codes and standards Qualifications AutoCAD or other CAD/drafting experience preferred Experience with mechanical design, MEP, construction, architecture, drafting, or engineering technology is a plus Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, and technical specifications Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills Good understanding of 2D/3D layouts and spatial relationships Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines Willingness to learn new design software, fire protection systems, codes, and standards Fire sprinkler/fire protection experience is a plus but not required.
