Property Accountant

Ensure accurate recording of cash activity via journal entry and reconciling bank statements to general ledger accounts. Assist Property Managers in researching/reconciling cash receipts. Work with Property Managers and Lease Administrators to ensure completeness and accuracy of tenant data in the accounting system. Review and post accounts receivable for proper coding and application, which includes invoices to tenants and receipts from tenants. Review and post accounts payable for proper coding and approvals, propriety of payments, supporting documents, etc. Prepare monthly property management fee calculations. Assist with monthly cash vs. budget variance reports and prepare variance explanations. Prepare monthly/quarterly cash/accrual basis financial statement reporting packages on a timely basis. Prepare year-end audit packages as required by external auditors. Prepare escalation calculations. Additional accounting projects as needed. Requirements Degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited university. 2+ years of experience in accounting. Experience with Yardi and/or MRI is a plus. Exposure to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
