Adapts all needed testing procedures and equipment to patients and obtains quality data. Conducts thorough patient assessments and takes appropriate action as necessary. Uses hospital equipment, supplies, and resources responsibly and notifies the lead polysomnographer of any concerns. Follows procedures for correct billing and documentation of services provided. Strives to achieve reliability scores at a prescribed rate. Explains and modifies teaching strategies to accommodate patients with decreased vision, hearing, or mental status. Addresses considerations necessary for the care of patients with special medical conditions. Promotes positive patient interactions and advocates for patients and family-centered care in all decisions and actions. Participates in polysomnography educational opportunities and maintains required continuing education hours. Maintains confidentiality and promotes the dignity of customers and associates. Attends department meetings and participates in performance improvement initiatives. Education: Associate [Preferred] High School Grad or Equiv [Required] Work Experience: 1+ experience as a sleep tech [Required] Licenses and Certifications: Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) [Required] Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred] Physical Requirements: Please click the link below to view work requirements.
