Electronics Engineer

Leidos is seeking an Electronics Engineer to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Service Area Engineering Services Group in Des Moines, WA. This role plays a key part in the FAA’s Brand-New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) modernization initiative—helping design, engineer, and deploy next‑generation air traffic control infrastructure across the National Airspace System.What You’ll Do• Conduct site surveys to assess infrastructure needs for BNATCS deployments.• Develop detailed site preparation requirements and cost estimates.• Review contractor proposals to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.• Coordinate with FAA Service Centers, Technical Services, Air Traffic, and other stakeholders to manage risks and keep projects on track.• Schedule and support site preparation, installation, and commissioning activities.• Provide regular project status updates to leadership.• Maintain Corporate Work Plan data, project documentation, and facility drawing updates.Basic Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering.• 4 years of relevant experience preferred (candidates with less experience considered based on education, technical aptitude, and internships).• Ability to travel 25–50%.• Ability to obtain FAA Public Trust Suitability (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder with 3 years’ residency).• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.• Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.Desired Qualifications• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across diverse stakeholder groups.• Demonstrated professionalism, collaboration skills, and the ability to work in multidisciplinary environments.• Initiative, adaptability, and eagerness to learn in a fast‑paced technical setting.• Sound judgment, accountability, and openness to feedback and growth.If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
