Production Lead

Our production team is the heart of that work, and this role is the heartbeat of that team. We are looking for a working lead who brings order, expertise, and genuine craft to every production day—someone who leads by example, solves problems in real time, and takes pride in what we make. THE ROLE This is a hands-on leadership position in a fast-growing small business. You will own the weekly production schedule, coordinate the flow of blending, packaging, and inventory, and hold the quality standard that defines every Artemis product while also working the floor alongside your team every single day. This is not an oversight role from a distance. The right person is in it with the team, setting the pace and the standard. You will work closely with our operations leadership to ensure production runs are completed accurately, on time, and at the quality our customers and wholesale accounts expect. As Artemis grows, this role grows with it — and we are looking for someone who welcomes that kind of expanding responsibility. WHAT YOU'LL DO Production Planning & Scheduling Plan and manage the weekly production schedule in close coordination with operations leadership Anticipate production needs, capacity constraints, and ingredient availability to keep the studio running efficiently Communicate proactively with leadership about timelines, challenges, and opportunities for process improvement Hands-On Production Blend, package, and fulfill production runs to specification—with precision, consistency, and genuine care for the craft Work the production floor alongside team members every day, leading by example in both pace and quality Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards in the production studio at all times Quality Control Oversee quality control at each stage of production from raw ingredient intake through finished, packaged product Ensure consistency across all blends and product lines, holding the standard our customers and wholesale accounts rely on Identify and resolve quality issues in real time, with clear documentation and follow-through Inventory & Operations Manage inventory of herbs, packaging materials, and production supplies—monitoring levels and flagging reorder needs proactively Help maintain efficient, organized systems across the production studio as the product line and team grow Support the onboarding and ongoing training of production team members and assistants WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Experience in production, food manufacturing, packaging operations, or warehouse leadership— supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple production runs and priorities simultaneously A working leader—someone who does not manage from a distance but works alongside their team every day Strong attention to detail and a genuine, personal commitment to quality and consistency Clear communicator who works well with a small, collaborative team and keeps leadership informed Strong problem-solving skills, especially in a fast-paced environment where conditions shift Comfortable in a physically active role—extended standing, lifting inventory, and moving between tasks throughout the day Familiarity with food-safe handling, blending, or specialty packaging environments is a significant advantage Alignment with the Artemis brand—a curiosity about plants, herbs, and botanical craft is genuinely welcome here This role reports to our COO and works in close coordination with our founder.
