Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) School Health

Adelphi is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide in-person, one-to-one nursing services to students within a school setting in Wilmington, North Carolina. The LPN will provide direct nursing care under the supervision of an RN or other authorized healthcare provider, administer authorized medications and treatments, monitor student health status, and support implementation of individualized healthcare plans.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in North Carolina.
• Current CPR certification.
• Pediatric, school health, or related nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned students.
• Administer medications and treatments as properly authorized.
• Provide routine nursing care and monitor student health status.
• Document nursing services promptly and accurately.
• Report changes in a student's health condition to the supervising RN or other authorized healthcare provider.
• Assist with implementation of individualized healthcare plans.
• Perform nursing procedures within the LPN scope of practice and assigned level of supervision.
• Respond appropriately to student illness, injury, and medical emergencies.
• Communicate health-related concerns with supervising nursing personnel and appropriate school staff.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health documentation.
• Follow established district health, safety, infection-control, and emergency procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
