Overview Veterinary kennel technicians are responsible for the day-to-day care of in-house patients as well as maintaining hospital cleanliness. Responsibilities Feeding, watering, cleaning, walking and monitoring the well-being of dogs and cats. Cleaning the hospital throughout the shift and at the end of the day. Qualifications Must have sufficient physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift and/or move heavy pets and objects, the confidence to administer medications, and the ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease. It is essential to have the ability and willingness to learn and the desire to provide gentle, compassionate care for hospitalized pets. Other Details Must be solution-oriented, accountable, and a direct and honest communicator. Must demonstrate critical thinking and empathy and be able to multitask.
