Golden House Adult Developmental Center (GHADC) is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) & Driver in Livermore, CA. This position combines client transportation with hands-on coaching, skill development, and activity support for adults with developmental disabilities.

We welcome experienced DSPs and RBTs (Registered Behavior Technicians), as well as compassionate individuals seeking an entry-level pathway into human services (paid training and DSP credentialing assistance provided!) .

Schedule: Full-Time / Daytime Shift (No Nights or Weekends)

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Support: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, and mobility, while promoting maximum self-determination and independence.
• Program Coaching: Lead group activities, pre-vocational tasks, social recreation, and community outings (parks, zoos, events).
• Behavior Support: Implement individual support plans using positive reinforcement, proactive supervision, and gentle de-escalation principles.
• Transportation: Safely drive agency vans to transport clients to/from the center and on daily outings; perform basic pre-trip safety checks.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs of client progress, community activities, and incident reports.

Qualifications

Required:

• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass required background checks (DOJ/FBI) and physical/TB screenings

Preferred / Credentials:

• Active DSP I, DSP II , or RBT credentials (or willingness to obtain them with our support)
• Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, ABA, or day-program services
