Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a travel nursing job in Saginaw, Michigan. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVOR Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Nurse, located in Michigan, is responsible for assessing the needs of surgical patients before and during procedures to ensure patient safety. This role involves outlining individualized care plans, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient care, as well as providing leadership to the operating room team. The position offers scheduled hours primarily during dayshift, with on-call responsibilities as required. Job Details Position Description: This role is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans specific to each surgical patient, and ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure. The nurse supervises activity in the operating room, anticipates schedule changes, assembles necessary equipment and supplies, assists anesthesia as needed, and monitors the sterile field. Effective communication with patients, families, physicians, the OR team, and other departments is essential. Participation in staff development activities such as in-services and educational meetings is also expected. Required Qualifications: Active Michigan licensed Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications. 3 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, recent travel work history, and proficiency in skills pertinent to the specialty are required. Schedule: Dayshift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Call is required on all days worked and weekends, with very infrequent on-call cases. Additional Information: Candidates must submit a complete profile including skills checklist current within one year, two supervisory reference forms within the last two years, and proof of active Michigan license, BLS, and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
