Job Title: Packaging Associate I – 2nd Shift

Pay Rate: $18/hr. + $1.25 Shift Differential = $19.25/hour
Location: East Providence, RI 02914
Duration: Temp-to-Perm
Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm

Job Summary

We are seeking a Packaging Associate I to support daily manufacturing and packaging operations. Under general supervision, this position inspects, assembles, and packages products according to established instructions and quality standards. The role involves using packaging equipment, performing quality checks, recording production information, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Package products according to established work instructions, specifications, quality requirements, and production standards.
• Inspect raw materials, components, and completed packages for quality and remove defective items.
• Operate packaging equipment and tools, including counting scales, box taping machines, labeling equipment, and other specialized packaging machinery.
• Record accurate production and quality data.
• Maintain proper housekeeping practices and follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Move completed products from the packaging area to the warehouse.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance on packaging equipment.
• Identify potential problems and provide feedback regarding new or revised processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for improving efficiency and quality.
• Work cooperatively with team members and maintain a positive attitude.
• Be willing to cross-train in other production areas and provide coverage as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred, but not required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and computer skills required.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling, assembling, and packaging materials.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Occasional walking throughout the work area.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Assisted lifting equipment may be used for heavier materials.
• Requires close and color vision.
• May occasionally work around moving mechanical equipment and industrial chemicals.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
