Hospital Director of Operations | 24H Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital | $130-160K/year | Retention Bonus Available (up to $75,000!) | + a nnual profit-sharing bonus plan | Relocation Assistance Available | Full-Time, Benefits | Anchorage, AK We’re searching for a committed, experienced Hospital Director of Operations to join our dynamic team at PET Emergency Treatment (PET ER) — a thriving, 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital in beautiful Anchorage Alaska—you’ll be joining an organization that is all about delivering superior veterinary care with compassion! PET ER provides specialty and 24-hour emergency care services to pets and their owners in the Anchorage bowl and surrounding communities. Our highly skilled veterinarians and staff are dedicated to serving animals with exceptional specialty, emergency and referral care, providing compassion to the people who love them, and supporting the local veterinary community at any time of day or night. Being in Alaska we can get called upon to support the Iditarod and occasional work with Sea Life Center. PET is proudly accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. Schedule and Compensation: Consistent flexibility in scheduling is necessary for this position. The ideal candidate will be able to work across multiple shifts, including day and evening hours. The compensation range is $130-160K annual salary. Up to a 3 year retention bonus in the amount of $75,000! $15,000 @ 6 months in role $20,000 @ 12 months in role $40,000 @ 36 months in role Annual profit-sharing bonus plan. Relocation package is available Qualifications: Experience: 5–10+ years of senior leadership experience in veterinary hospital operations, healthcare, or retail, ideally in a multi-specialty or matrixed setting. Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive strategic and operational initiatives, and foster inclusive collaboration. Brings strong business acumen withdemonstratedexperiencesuccessfully managing hospital financials, budgeting, and full P&L accountability. Ideal Background: Proven experience building and scaling high-performing teams,driving engagement, and supporting professionaldevelopmentresulting in measurable improvements to hospital financials and EBITDA. Drive – Operational Execution & Accountability Lead financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing the hospital’s P&L to ensure long-term sustainability. About the Hospital We are an established,newlyexpanded 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital Large comfort room, large treatment area with a separate cat room, two large surgery suites and prep area, and isolation ward In-house laboratory capabilities including Idexx Vet Suite (Catalyst Chemistry Analyzer, Lasercyte CBC, Urinalysis, and ELISA Snap Reader), and basic cytology We also have a close association with a local full-service laboratory In-house ECG, Echocardiogram, and Ultrasound Digital radiography and CT Endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and rhinoscopy Excellent surgical monitoring capabilities with SurgiVet for non-invasive blood pressure, 3 Lead ECG, Heart rate, Digital SpO2, End Tidal CO2, Respiration, Temperature, and Built-In Printer Ventilator capabilities in surgery suite Complete pharmacy, OTC products, andprescription diets This is more than an operational role—it’s a mission-driven leadership opportunity to envision the future of veterinary care, drive innovation, and inspire teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.
