Orthotics and Prosthetics Technician

An Orthotics and Prosthetics Technician is responsible for designing, fabricating, and maintaining orthotic and prosthetic devices for patients. The O&P Technician provides clinical and technical support for all incoming O&P services and needs. This person is responsible for the technical development and knowledge of fabricating orthotic and prosthetic quality devices. Responsible for fabricating with in-depth knowledge, expertise, and ability to provide quality fabrication of devices offered. Must work with the practitioner team to coordinate and execute on-time deliveries. Responsibilities Design and fabricate orthotic and prosthetic devices based on patient needs and specifications. Keep the lab clean, organized, and safe. Knowledge and technical skills are needed to fabricate and repair prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses. (orthopedic braces) according to patient measurements and casts and comply with practitioners' work orders. Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively. Effective organizational, time management, and planning skills. Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others. Ability to work effectively as a team member. Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships.
