Growing together.Job Description:The experienced multi-specialty surgery coder is responsible for daily coding, denial management, charge hold, RAI resolution and abstraction. The coder is responsible for escalation of coding questions and requests for coding guidance to the Coding Coordinator and/or Supervisor. Participate in internal QA audits and provide feedback in the compliance QA process.Hours: Monday - Friday, working 40 hours a weekLocation: Fully Remote - U.SYou'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Provide coding and abstraction of physician or professional recordsProvide communications to Coordinator, Supervisors and ManagersComplete RAI's, denials, charge hold reports, and coding editsAssist on special coding projects as assignedYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED (or higher)Professional coder certification with credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC (ROCC, CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS) to be maintained annually2+ years of experience in specialty surgery coding with both quality and productivity requirementsIntermediate with Excel and MS office productsPreferred Qualifications:1+ year of General Surgery coding ExperienceLead coder or supervisory experienceSoft Skills:Proven excellent communication skillsWorking Conditions/Physical Requirement:General office demandsCareers with Optum.
