Key responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist include:
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Evaluate patient responses and adjust therapy plans accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of treatments and patient progress
- Ensure all respiratory care equipment is functioning properly
- Educate patients and families about respiratory therapy and disease management
Requirements of the Respiratory Therapist include:
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy
