Role Description The Real Estate Appraiser is a full-time, on-site role based in Amarillo, TX. This position is responsible for performing property inspections, gathering market and comparable sales data, and preparing detailed real estate appraisal reports for ad valorem tax purposes. Daily activities include analyzing property characteristics, verifying information with property owners and public records, and applying appropriate valuation methods to residential, commercial, and specialty properties. The appraiser collaborates with internal teams and clients to explain valuation outcomes, respond to inquiries, and support tax assessment processes. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, meeting project deadlines, and staying current with appraisal standards, market trends, and applicable regulations. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Real Estate Appraisal and Appraisal methodologies for ad valorem tax purposes (preferred but not required). Strong Valuation expertise, including application of market, cost, and income approaches (preferred but not required). Experience with Residential Real Estate and, ideally, exposure to commercial or complex property types. (preferred but not required). Advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting data, market trends, and property characteristics (preferred but not required). Relevant state appraisal license or certification (or eligibility to obtain within a defined timeframe). Associate or bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, economics, or a related field (preferred but not required). Proficiency with appraisal software, GIS or mapping tools, and standard office applications (preferred but not required). Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, defensible reports. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to regulatory compliance and professional standards. Self must work on-site in Amarillo, TX, manage fieldwork and office tasks, and travel as needed. Salary range will be contingent upon qualifications and commensurate with experience.
