Primary Care Physician

Job Description

A premier Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Las Vegas is seeking a dedicated, full-time Primary Care Physician to provide high-quality primary, urgent, or specialty medical care to our diverse patient population.

Essential Job Functions:

• Patient Care: Provide comprehensive primary, urgent, or specialty care. Develop individualized care plans including complete medical histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, and appropriate treatments or referrals.

• Diagnostics & Treatment: Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (laboratory and radiological) in a cost-efficient manner, explaining results clearly to patients. Prescribe necessary medications or therapies.

• Continuity of Care: Refer patients to specialists when required while maintaining primary responsibility for ongoing care coordination. Confers with consulting physicians, nurses, patients, and families.

• Coverage & Schedule: On a rotational basis, serve as the on-call physician when the clinic is closed and participate in Saturday clinic rotations. Maintain hospital privileges if required for inpatient or emergency room coverage.

• Preventative Health: Emphasize and advocate for preventative healthcare measures and counsel patients on wellness.

• Collaboration & Leadership: Supervise mid-level providers (NPs/PAs) as needed. Assist in training para-professional, non-medical personnel, and rotating medical or nursing students.

• Compliance & Admin: Document clinical encounters electronically within the organization's EHR system. Attend medical staff meetings, comply with all state and federal regulations, and participate in Quality Assurance and performance improvement programs.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.

• Licensure: Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice medicine in the State of Nevada.

• Certification: Board eligible or certified in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Ob/Gyn, or Emergency Medicine. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

• Teamwork: Strong ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team of health professionals and non-medical staff.

Language Skills:

• Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English is required.

• Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) or other languages is highly preferred and considered a strong asset.
