Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst (Hybrid – Washington, DC)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Workplace Type: Hybrid (2 days onsite)

Compensation: $85,000 – $120,000 + Bonus + Equity

We are partnering with a high-growth, mission-driven organization operating at the intersection of data, healthcare, and technology. They are seeking a Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst to take ownership of core accounting operations while driving financial insights that influence key business decisions.

This is a high-impact role reporting directly to senior leadership, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants visibility, ownership, and career growth.

What You’ll Do

• Own day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, General Ledger)
• Lead month-end close and ensure accurate, timely reporting
• Manage payroll processes across multiple regions
• Oversee project/grant accounting, including budget tracking and compliance
• Build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reports
• Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts
• Conduct variance analysis and present insights to leadership
• Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decisions
• Improve financial systems, processes, and controls
• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis
• Strong experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Experience with project accounting (budgets, burn rates, compliance)
• Advanced Excel skills (modeling, pivot tables, dashboards)
• Familiarity with Bill.com or similar tools is a plus
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills with ability to translate data into insights
• Experience in healthtech, SaaS, or high-growth startups preferred
