JobSummary:


The VictimAdvocate shall be responsible for the provision of services to victims ofdomestic and sexual violence and their families to include victim assistance,community education, and volunteer management in the designated satellitecenter

andrelevant service area.,including but not limited to the following:

VictimAssistance:

1. Assess client needsandprovide services asneeded.

2. Provide individual crisis andsupport groupcounseling for victims andtheir families.

3. Provide support services for victims and their families to include advocacy, hospitaland court accompaniment, informationand referral, and resourceprocurement.

4. Provide follow-upservices to victims and their families.

5. Provide staff back-up forvolunteer victim advocates at night and on weekends on a rotation basis.

6. Maintain and enter services into database on a daily basis.

7. Complete necessary reports as scheduled.

Volunteer Program

1. Scheduleand managevolunteers.

2. Maintain and enter volunteer statistics into database on monthly basis.

Inter-Agency Coordination

1. RepresentPee Dee Coalition and take an active part in related community task forces, committees. etc.

Community Education, Training,And Awareness

1. Provide community education and awareness on the issues of domestic and sexual violence andprogram services as assigned.

2. Document all community education and submit reports according to organizational policy.

3. Assist with the planning and Implementat1on of activities for special awareness months (Child Abuse Prevention, Sexual Assault Awareness, and Domestic ViolenceAwareness).

4. Actively distribute brochures, crisis cards, and materials throughoutthe community

5. Assist with in-service trainings for professionals

6. Participate in the public education component of theorganization through public speaking, media interviews, andattendance/participation in community events.
General Responsibilities

1. Be familiar with organizational goals andobjectives and ensure compliance with required services and documentation.

2. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures as outlined in the Staff Manual, Program Procedures Manual. and Personnel Policies. Consult supervisor with questions.

3. Participate in staff development trainings as indicated by supervisor. Summarize information and report accordingly.

4. Perform administrative functionsas appropriate for position and meet organizational deadlines as indicated.

5. Preparemonthly service/activity reports for the Board of Directors.

6. Obtain Victim Service Provider certificationwithin first year of employment and maintain annually by securingappropriate number of training hours.

7. Assist with the general maintenanceand upkeep of building.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, or related field of study (Psychology, Sociology or Criminal Justice)
• Must have experience with Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
• Must provide services in Marion and Dillon County.
• Reside in the Marion or Dillon County.
• Must be able to respond after hours to local hospitals to provide advocacy/support
• Must be able to attend after hours events
