SRM Assembly Engineer II The SRM Assembly Engineer II independently develops and improves manufacturing systems supporting development, LRIP, and full-rate production of solid rocket motors. This engineer serves as the technical manufacturing lead for assigned programs and drives production readiness, throughput improvements, and process optimization across multiple assembly operations. What You Will Do Lead manufacturing engineering support for assigned SRM programs. Own manufacturing process development from prototype through production. Develop production workflows, line balancing, and takt planning. Design and validate tooling, fixtures, lifting devices, carts, and manufacturing equipment. Perform manufacturing risk analyses including PFMEA and process capability assessments. Develop production layouts and material flow. Create manufacturing plans supporting explosive operations. Lead production issue investigations using structured root cause methodologies. Support engineering change implementation and configuration control. Partner with Program Management to meet production schedules. Develop manufacturing metrics focused on safety, quality, schedule, and cost. Lead qualification builds and production readiness reviews. Mentor junior engineers and technicians. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline. 3–6 years of manufacturing engineering experience. Experience supporting aerospace, defense, energetics, propulsion, or complex mechanical assemblies. Experience developing manufacturing documentation and work instructions. Working knowledge of CAD software and manufacturing tooling design. Experience supporting cross-functional production teams. Ability to work in explosive or hazardous manufacturing environments. Ability to manage multiple production priorities. U.S. Person required.
