The Software Certification Manager leads Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Software Engineering teams located in Everett, Washington and is responsible for certification of supplier‑developed software within Cabin, Electrical Subsystems, Interiors, Network Systems, and Propulsion domains. Oversee professional employees engaged in engineering and technical activities within the aforementioned domains. Develop and execute comprehensive software project and implementation plans, ensuring adherence to compliance. Provide technical management and guidance to partners and stakeholders. Lead and oversee technical strategies, maintain high‑quality benchmarks, maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports, and inspire and develop team members to achieve full potential. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. Responsibilities Oversee professional employees engaged in engineering and technical activities within Software specifically focusing on Cabin, Electrical Subsystems, Interiors, Network Systems, or Propulsion systems. Develop and execute comprehensive software project and implementation plans tailored to the domains, ensuring adherence to compliance. Provide technical management and guidance to partners and stakeholders in the relevant organizations. Lead and oversee technical strategies, ensuring effective development and support for software while maintaining high‑quality benchmarks. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers (both internal and external), stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports. Inspire, develop, and motivate team members to achieve full potential in software development and certification. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. U.S. Person compliant with 22 C.F.R. §120.62 (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee). 5+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or similar high‑tech industry. 2+ years of experience in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and business partners. 2+ years of experience in a leadership role leading global teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change. At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, manager, cross‑functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) or completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.” Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. 3+ years of experience in cross‑functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships, and proficiency in written and verbal communication. 3+ years of experience with DO‑178C and supplements (DO‑331, DO‑332) and DO‑330. 3+ years of experience in leading or managing software engineering activities. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience in software development using Java, JavaScript, and Node.JS. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. 2+ years of experience as a technical manager of a product deployment team. Familiarity with the use of AI in software development practices. Familiar with Boeing processes and procedures. Pay & Benefits Pay Range: $171,700 - $232,300.
