About the Position

Job Title: RN Surgery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 11:00 AM - 09:30 PM Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse credentialed from the state board of nursing Certifications: Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire; BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire Must-Have: Critical thinking skills; decisive judgment; ability to work with minimal supervision Description: Delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during the procedure. Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition, and managing overall nursing care of patients before, during, and after the procedure. Directly assists the operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure, as well as patient positioning. Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work in a stressful environment. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Preferred skills include experience in orthopedics, trauma, general/GYN, urology, DaVinci robotics, vascular, and CVOR.
