Quality Inspector II in Tacoma

Summary of Position Inspect materials and parts through the entire manufacturing process. Essential Job Requirements (Minimum) Inspect products from start to completion to ensure conformance to engineering and specifications. Visually and tactually examine product and material to ensure defects do not occur. Record results as needed. Schedule, document, and close out projects and/or tasks under the supervision of the QA Manager. Stay up‑to‑date on current and best practices related to quality assurance standards. Actively participate in the development of QA practices. Perform verification of First Article per AS9102 requirements using the assured methodology per standards. Verify sampling of product to drawing per standards. Verify part labels and marking of products to ensure specifications are followed. Review all manufacturing work orders (M.O.) to ensure readability, completion of operation, and that counts are accurate and complete to AS9100 requirements. Perform computer transactions to complete M.O. and final operations. Conform to aerospace requirements by adhering to the company's quality system procedures as documented. Perform other duties as assigned. Education High School Diploma or GED required. Technical coursework related to blueprint reading required. Application of AS9100 in a manufacturing environment required. Knowledge of Boeing specifications strongly desired. Experience 5+ years of manufacturing quality assurance experience in the aerospace industry required. Understanding and utilization of GD&T strongly desired. Level II Indicators Capable of in‑process inspection. Proficient with hand measurement tools such as scales, calipers, radius gauges, and pin gauges to satisfy final product acceptance. Willing to learn about the commodity and become proficient in inspecting parts of medium complexity off the production floor. Understand and participate in 6S. First Article Inspections / FAIRS. Solid understanding of metrology. Proficient with hand measurement tools such as micrometers and height gauges to satisfy final product acceptance and FAIRS. Basic functional understanding of GD&T. Ability to read CMM reports. Ability to write internal NCRs. Ability to validate dimensions. Certified to train on final inspection within the company. Required Skills Analytical skills and creative thinking. Proficient using Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Advanced mathematical skills, including use and understanding of metrology tools such as dial calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. Attention to detail in respect to inspection and specifications. Proficient time‑management skills to ensure on‑time delivery with the ability to execute tasks simultaneously.
